テルマとエミリーが家でくつろいでいると、エミリーのスマホにメールが届きました。突然、 エミリーが慌て始めます。
(Thelma and Emily are relaxing at home when a text message arrives on Emily’s phone. Suddenly, Emily begins to panic.)

エミリーが急に慌て始めたのにはわけがあります。エミリーのお母さんが会いに来るうえに、 家に泊まるというのです。お母さんはめちゃくちゃきれい好きなので、エミリーは部屋を汚くしていたら怒られると思って、「掃除しなくちゃ」というキモチで (There is a reason why Emily is suddenly in a panic. Emily’s mother was coming to visit her and was staying at her house. Emily’s mother is a very clean person, and she is afraid that she will be scolded if she leaves her room messy, so she starts to feel that she has to clean it.)
