now we go to -, ニュース番組などで使われるフレーズで、「次は～について（の話題）です」
preparation「準備、準備作業」で、この意味では通常は複数形にします。
this summer「今年の夏」
Olympics と Paralympics は Olympic GamesとParalympic Gamesを短縮した形なので、複数形になっています。一般名詞としての game には「競技（会）」という意味があります。
名詞 official 「役人、職員、当局者」などで、ここではパリ市の役人を指しています。
unveil「公開する、発表する」です。ベールを取って除幕をするイメージです。
stormwater「（豪雨などによる）雨水」
combat「（問題、敵、病気、犯罪などと）闘う、取り組む」

flow into「流れ込む」、水などの液体だけでなく、人や物、空気などの動きを表すときにも使えます。

パリ市によりますと、市内の下水施設は古く、処理できる容量も小さいため、まとまった雨が降ると道路の側溝や下水管から水があふれて路上のごみや汚れが川に流れ込んでしまうということで、選手たちが泳ぐには水質の改善が必要だと指摘されていました。
(According to the City of Paris, the city’s sewage system is old and has a small treatment capacity, so when there is a heavy rainfall, water overflows from street gutters and sewage pipes, causing garbage and dirt from the streets to flow into the river, and it was pointed out that the water quality needed to be improved for the swimmers.)

オリンピック・パラリンピックの文脈では、施設やインフラの整備、スポーツ振興、ボランティアの意欲向上など、開催地に長期的に残る良い影響を指します。(In the context of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, it refers to the long-term positive impact that will remain in the host city, such as the development of facilities and infrastructure, sports promotion, and volunteer motivation.)

パリ市では、川の上流で浄水場の整備なども同時に進めて水質改善を図り、大会後の２０２５年夏には、市内３か所に遊泳施設を設ける方針です。
(The city of Paris plans to improve water quality by simultaneously developing a water purification plant upstream of the river, and plans to establish swimming facilities at three locations in the city in the summer of 2025, after the Games.)
