ポールは、 自分が書いた脚本の舞台に出演するとエミリーに言います。
その様子を聞かれて、「脚本家と役者を同時にするのは大変」というキモチで (Paul tells Emily that he’s going to star in a play he wrote. When asked how it was, she said, “It’s hard to be a scriptwriter and an actor at the same time.”)
at the same time と言っています。 at the same time は 「同時に」という意味ですが、 この例のように2つの役割を 「両立させている」という意味で使うことがよくあります。(As in this example, the word is often used to mean “balancing” two roles.)
