(Emily and Paul go into town and wait for the bus, but it never comes.)

今日はすごく寒いし! ホントだよね!
エミリーとポールはバスを待っていますが、 なかなか来ません。
(Emily and Paul are waiting for the bus, but it never comes.)
「今日はとても寒いよね」とポールが言うのに対して、エミリーは「ホントにね」と同意するキモチで I know! と答えています。 直訳では「わかっています」 ですが、直前に言われたことを受けて、 「ホントにね、まったくね」 のような意味になります。
