そこから全体的な状態を調べる」と言う意味が出てきたんですね。

痛みを表現するいろいろな単語があります。その4つをご紹介します。

1). ahe 継続的な鈍い痛み、絶えず痛む、胸が痛む

When you get older it seems like you get new aches and pains every week.
歳を重ねると、毎週のように新たな疼きや痛みが現れる

名詞noun のache の前に体の部位を入れると「〜痛」を言うことができる　
heartache, toothache, stomachache
heartache 比喩的に、「悲しい、辛い、恋しい」という胸の痛みに使えます。

2). throb ズキズキする、ドキドキする、鼓動する
