トンガリロ国立公園
ニュージーランドの鉄道について調べていると、まるで富士山と見間違うようなすばらしい風景を見つけました。
それが、今回の対話カラオケに登場したトンガリロ国立公園にあるナウルホエ山です。この国立公園は有名な映画のロケ地にもなったそうで、登山やスキーを楽しめます。ところで、ニュージーランドではちょうどこれからスキーのシーズンを迎えます。ニュージーランドは南半球に位置するので、 5月から寒くなるのです。日本とは季節が反対ですね。

This national park has been used as a location for famous movies, and offers a great place for mountain climbing and skiing. By the way, the ski season is just around the corner in New Zealand. New Zealand is located in the southern hemisphere, so it starts to get cold in May. It is the opposite of the season in Japan.)

The name of Mt. Ngauruhoe comes from Māori. In Māori, New Zealand is called Aotearoa. Aotearoa means “Land of the Long White Cloud.”
