should = 「~すべき」 とは限らない
should は「~したほうがいい」という意味でもよく使い、 相談するときの定番表現。
しかし、 should と組み合わせる主語には注意が必要です。
You should ~ だと、 相手の判断に立ち入る高圧的な感じが出てしまうことも。
| や we を主語にしてソフトに相談を持ちかけましょう。
Should we ~? (~したほうがいいでしょうか?)という感じです。

会話のテンプレート 「~について/~の件ですが……」
日常会話 ビジネス英会話を問わず、会話をうまく運ぶにはテンプレート (ひな型、 定型文) が役立ちます。 しかし、 長いテンプレートだと覚えるのも、 実際の会話で使うのも大変。 今回は相談を持ちかける場面で、先にどんな話題か伝えてから、 相談の内容を追加で伝える短い2文のパターンを練習しました。
(Everyday Conversation Whether it’s business English conversation or not, templates (models, fixed phrases) are useful for conducting conversations well. However, long templates are difficult to memorize and use in real conversations. This time, we practiced a short two-sentence pattern in which we would first tell the person what the topic was, and then add additional information about the content of the consultation.)
