「〜しませんか?」 と英語でお誘いするには?(How to invite someone in English by saying, “Would you like to do something?”)
常々お伝えしていることですが、 日本語に対する英語は1つではありません。 1つの日本語に対して何通りもの表現のしかたがあるのが当然です。 (As I always say, there is more than just one English for Japanese. It is natural that there are many ways to express one Japanese word.)
受験英語を見ていると、 マルバツをつけるために、 時々少し無理をして使い分けのルールがあるかのように説明していると感じることもあります。 (When I look at English for entrance exams, I sometimes feel that in order to get a good mark, they sometimes go a little too hard and explain things as if there are rules for how to use them properly.)

今回練習した 「~しませんか?」 なら、 10個以上の英語表現があるはず。
例えば、 「行きませんか?」 なら、 Shall we go?、Should we go?、 Why don’t we go?
あるいは言いかえで Would you like to go? など・。

今回 Why don’t we ~? を取り上げたのは、フレンドリーで温かみのあるお誘いができる表現だから。
あくまで選択肢の1つであってこれを使わないといけない場面があるわけではありません。
(It’s just an option, and there are no situations where you have to use it.)
直訳すれば「なぜ私たちはしないの?」 ですが、
実際の英会話では「~しませんか?」「~しましょうか?」 に近い意味です。
この表現はビジネスの場面でも使えます。
例えば、 Why don’t we get started? (そろそろ始めませんか?) や
Why don’t we finish up? (そろそろ終わりませんか?)と言って、 打ち合わせの開始や終了を切り出せます。
