「地球」は Earth？それとも the Earth？

「地球」を表す単語は earthですが、今回のニュースでは、冠詞のtheが付いた the Earth と、the が付かない Earth の両方が使われています。この２つは、大文字のEarthを使っていますが、もう１つ、頭の文字が小文字のthe earthという表記もあります。
