Osaka Expo organizer to meet with countries to help accelerate preparations

The organizer of the 2025 World Exposition in Osaka will soon hold a meeting with participating countries to discuss how they can smoothly prepare for the event as a number of countries are behind schedule in building their pavilions.
2025年大阪万博の主催者は近く参加国と会合を開き、多くの国がパビリオンの建設が予定より遅れている中、どうすればスムーズに開催に向けて準備できるかを話し合う予定だ。

A total of 153 countries have signed up to participate in the expo, and 60 of them had initially planned to finance the construction of their pavilions.
合計153カ国が万博への参加に登録しており、そのうち60カ国は当初パビリオンの建設に資金を提供する予定だった。

But it has come to light that preparations are behind schedule amid a surge in the prices of construction materials. More than half of the countries have yet to decide on a pavilion construction company.
しかし、建設資材の価格高騰で準備が遅れていることが判明した。半数以上の国はまだパビリオン建設会社を決めていない。

Mexico has notified the Japanese side that it is withdrawing from the event, citing its inability to decide on a budget due to the country’s upcoming presidential election. Mexico was the first country to notify its withdrawal.
メキシコは大統領選挙を控え予算を決めることができないことを理由に、日本側にイベントからの撤退を通告した。メキシコは最初に離脱を通告した国だった。

The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition says it will prepare for the assembly of 25 prefabricated buildings for countries whose preparations are behind schedule. It says it plans to start construction of the prefabricated buildings as soon as it receives requests.
2025年日本万国博覧会協会は、準備が予定より遅れている国のために25棟のプレハブ建築の組み立てを準備すると発表した。プレハブ建築については要望があれば速やかに着工する予定だという。

At the meeting with participants to be held in Osaka, the organizer will provide information on pavilion construction, including firms that handle interior decorations and exhibits.
大阪で開催する参加者ミーティングでは、主催者が内装や展示を手掛ける企業などパビリオン建設に関する情報を提供する。

It will also explain how it will help staff, who are in charge of preparations and running of the event, find dormitories.
イベントの準備や運営を担当するスタッフの寮探しにも役立つと説明する。

With less than 18 months to go before the expo opens, the organizer is facing the challenge of providing adequate support for participants as their needs and preparation status are varied.
博覧会の開幕まであと 18 か月を切りましたが、主催者は参加者のニーズや準備状況が多様であるため、参加者に適切なサポートを提供するという課題に直面しています。
