Agnes Chow, a prominent Hong Kong activist who was jailed in 2020 for her role in a pro-democracy protest, says she is now in Canada and will probably never return to Hong Kong.
2020年に民主化運動に参加したとして投獄された香港の著名な活動家、周庭（アグネス・チョウ）さんは、現在カナダにおり、おそらく香港に戻ることはないだろうと語った。

Chow updated her Instagram account for the first time in about two years on Sunday. She revealed that she is currently in Toronto and had left Hong Kong in September. Chow was released from prison in June of 2021.
チョウさんは日曜日、約2年ぶりにインスタグラムのアカウントを更新した。彼女は現在トロントに滞在し、9月に香港を出国したことを明らかにした。チョウさんは2021年6月に刑務所から釈放された。

Chow said that she was originally scheduled to return to Hong Kong this month, as she is required to periodically report to the police. But she said that she has decided not to go back. She cited as reasons the situation in Hong Kong, her personal safety, as well as her physical and mental health.
周さんは定期的に警察に通報する義務があるため、当初は今月香港に戻る予定だったという。しかし、彼女はもう戻らないと決めたと言った。彼女はその理由として、香港の状況、自身の身の安全、そして身体的、精神的健康を挙げた。

Chow was one of the leaders of the Umbrella Movement. Young people in Hong Kong called for democratic elections during that campaign in 2014. Chow became well known in Japan at that time, as she posted some of her messages on social media in fluent Japanese.
チョウ氏は雨傘運動の指導者の一人だった。香港の若者たちは2014年の選挙運動中に民主的な選挙を求めた。周さんは流暢な日本語でソーシャルメディアにメッセージを投稿したため、当時日本でもよく知られるようになった。

The Hong Kong government has put exiled pro-democracy campaigners on a wanted list. That is among the steps the government has taken to try to keep activists residing overseas in check.
香港政府は亡命した民主活動家を指名手配した。これは海外在住の活動家を抑制するために政府がとった措置の一つだ。
