「ネイティブの人は丸暗記するのですか？」というご質問ですが、

You know, I don’t remember studying phrasal verbs at all in school. I think their expressions you hear so much growing up that you naturally master them before, you know it. I’m sure Japanese works that way too. But of course, we do learn what verbs, adverbs and prepositions mean at a basic level.
(ご存知のように、私は学校で句動詞をまったく勉強した覚えがありません。 彼らの表現は成長してからよく聞くので、自然とマスターできるようになるのだと思います。 きっと日本人もそうやってやっていると思います。 しかし、もちろん、動詞、副詞、前置詞が基本的なレベルで何を意味するのかを学びます。)
