愛知県にある藤田医科大学の宇山一朗教授らがシンガポール国立大学でロボットを操作し、藤田医科大学の手術台に設置された模擬臓器からがんを切除する手術を遠隔で行う実証実験の様子が公開されました。

conduct an experiment「実験を行う」、perform surgery「手術を行う」
文脈によって、「行う」という意味での conduct に代えて perform を使うこともありますが、conductにはリーダーシップを取るというニュアンスがあるのに対して、perform はその作業の内容に焦点が置かれます。
