Harajuku

(Did you two know about “Harajuku” before coming to Japan?)

(Harajuku is famous all over the world. I had seen it in guidebooks, so it was one of the places I wanted to visit in Tokyo.
I had an image of it as a “mysterious place where people who cosplay gather every week.”)
(I also knew about it because it appears in manga and Japanese movies! I had the impression that there were a lot of people wearing Lolita fashion and colorful Decora fashion.)

(In the past, it took a while for Japanese culture to reach us in America, so when I first went to Harajuku in 2005, I was surprised to see that the fashion trends had already changed!
It’s unique to Harajuku, where trends are born!)
