All right. Let’s start off with a chat with Ben. This week, we’re talking about meals. Ben, in junior high and high school, did your school serve lunch?
Yes, it did. At my school, we had a weekly menu in the cafeteria with lots of different choices.

I was lucky as my school lunches were really tasty.

I would go for seconds if I was really hungry.

I loved British desserts. My favorite one was apple crumble.

Ah. Ben, how would you describe apple crumble?
So, apple crumble is very similar to apple pie but with a crispy, crunchy top. It’s very sweet. You eat it with ice cream. Oh, so, so good.

I think the most famous one is fish and chips.

What Japanese food do you like the best?
I think my favorite Japanese food is yakiniku. I love how it’s a very social way to eat with your friends and family. I also love karaage and sushi, too.

My favorite meal of the day is brunch. Brunch is breakfast and lunch put together, so it can be a big meal. People often have brunch together with friends or family in cafes or restaurants.
Why do you like brunch?
You eat brunch around 11 o’clock, so that means you can wake later than normal. I love that because I love to sleep in.

My favorite thing to eat for brunch is French toast or eggs Benedict.
