Now, here’s a quick summary of the thoughts we’ve heard. Listen carefully and try to write down the main
points of what Mika and Dad say.
-Hannah → Gary
Mika needs Dad’s advice. She feels like there’s a wall between her and Rumi, and she’s counting on Dad to help. She knows he’ll say, “Be true to yourself.” She also knows that Rumi didn’t mean to hurt her. When she hears Dad’s advice, she thinks she knows what to do.
-Gary → Hannah
Dad knows that Mika’s fight with Rumi has been on her mind. It can be hard to give Mika advice because she’s so stubborn. But when he says, “If you’re too stubborn, you might lose your friend,” he knows that he has helped her. He’s ready to help her anytime.
That’s what he’s there for.

-Conversation Tips
Today, let’s talk about the expression: Anytime.
Anytime.
In the dialogue, Mika thanks Dad for giving her advice. And Dad says…
“Anytime.”
“Anytime” means “at any time.” In other words, Dad is ready to help Mika at any time, day or night.
Yes. You can use “Anytime” as a way of saying, “Please ask me whenever you need help. I’m happy to help you.”
Right. It’s a way of saying, “You’re welcome” while encouraging the other person to ask you again… anytime.
Okay. Riku, let’s practice.
