補語の「文の中の位置」 について (About the “position in the sentence” of complements)
補語とは、主語や目的語がどういうものか、 または、 どういう状態かを説明する語 (ふつうは名詞や形容詞) です。
(A complement is a word (usually a noun or adjective) that describes what the subject or object is or is.)
補語は何を説明するかによって文の中の位置が異なります。
(The position of the complement in the sentence differs depending on what it explains.)

1). その1 主語を説明している補語. S + V + C, S=C
be 動詞や look などの動詞のあと
This cake looks delicious.
My mother is a writer.
2). その2 目的語を説明している補語 S + V + O + C, O =C
目的語の直後
We call our teacher Hiro-sensei.
The smell makes me hungry.
