Many children around the world don’t like to eat vegetables. But many adults do. Why do so many children who hate veggies grow into adults who love them?
世界中の多くの子供たちは野菜を食べるのが好きではありません。 しかし、多くの大人はそうします。 なぜ野菜嫌いの子供が野菜大好きな大人に成長するのでしょうか？
You know that, as you grow up, your body changes. Did you know that one part that changes is your tongue? Things that taste good to you as a child may not taste as good when you grow up. Instead, you may start to like vegetables! Your brain continues to develop, too, until you’re almost 30. One of the last parts to finish developing is the part that you need for planning and making good choices. So, it’s natural for you to think differently as an adult than you did as a child.
大人になると体が変化するのはご存知の通りです。 変化する部分の一つが舌だということをご存知ですか？ 子供の頃に美味しかったものでも、大人になると美味しくなくなることもあります。 むしろ野菜が好きになるかも！ 脳も、30 歳近くになるまで発達し続けます。発達が最後に完了する部分の 1 つは、計画を立て、適切な選択をするために必要な部分です。 ですから、大人になると子供の頃と考え方が変わるのは当然のことです。

In addition to your body, your attitudes and abilities continue to change. Experience helps us develop. As we grow, we meet new people and do new things. Our interests change. When you were a child, you probably liked playing with toys, but maybe now you prefer other things, like studying, playing sports or games, or talking with friends.
身体に加えて、あなたの態度や能力も変化し続けます。 経験は私たちの成長に役立ちます。 私たちは成長するにつれて、新しい人々に会い、新しいことを行います。 私たちの興味は変わります。 子供の頃はおもちゃで遊ぶのが好きだったと思いますが、今は勉強、スポーツやゲーム、友達との会話など、他のことの方が好きかもしれません。

Like Mika, there may be a part of your personality that you want to change. That’s okay! People change with time and experience. Something that’s hard for you now may naturally become easier in the future, the same way that a child learns to like vegetables. With time and experience, who knows what you may be able to do?
