英会話仙人トモヤさん/エイズに感染した少女 | 人間はいつ死ぬか分からない | 英会話を学ぶ

When I was born, I was HIV positive,
and when I turned five,
I had had symptoms of AIDS.
I had had fungus in my brain,
um, blood infections,
pneumonia,
I went code blue a couple of times.
What’s the hardest part for you, Hydeia?
When your friends die?
A lot of my friends have died of AIDS.
No one really knows how long anybody’s gonna live
because I don’t, um, pull myself like,
“Oh, you have AIDS,”
or I could go outside and get hit by a bus tomorrow.
And you never know if you stay in your bed and
feel sorry for yourself and
don’t get up with the birds and just sit there saying,
“I’m gonna die.”
Why not get up and try to make a difference?
But when you say, “Well,
today is another day.”
I can get up. I could do something.
And make something positive.
