Nas Daily / Why is Berlin not expensive?

Today I’m traveling
with my family in Europe
But when you’re traveling with family
it can get really expensive　すぐに高額になります
really fast
That’s what we thought until we arrived in　ベルリンに着くまではそう思っていました。
Berlin, Germany
Which to our surprise　驚いたことには、ヨーロッパの他の所ほど高くない
was not as expensive as the rest of Europe
$3 for kebab　ケバブ
$5 for a pizza
$2 for beer
Berlin is cheaper than
New York, Paris, Los Angeles, even back home.
But why?!
Here’s my best guess　私が思うに
Berlin was divided　以前ベルリンは壁によって分断されていて、壁崩壊後
and right as this Berlin wall fell
the city was rebuilt for everybody　まちは再建されて
Rent prices are controlled by the government　賃貸料金は政府に管理され
so they don’t grow fast　復興をそんなに急がなかった
public transportation is designed to be affordable　公共交通機関は手頃な値段
and here minimum wages 最低賃金
are designed to be livable wages 最低生活ができるだけの生活賃金で
not just minimum!　単に最低じゃねい。
Whatever the reason is 理由はともかく
this European capital is affordable ここは皆にとって、手頃な価格
to everybody
The artiest
the business person
the poor　貧しい人に
the rich　リッチな人にも
And…
The families like mine. 私のような家庭にも
