and in many of these cases
parents have to take loans　親がローンを組む
It’s just part of the culture
We love our kids
I too could get a free car and a free house
but I had to turn it down 断らなければならなかった

scared of getting too dependent on parents free money　両親に頼りすぎて怖い
My parents and everyone’s parents here
are so loving, well-meaning and generous　愛情、善意があって、気前がいい
and I feel lucky to have them
but maybe the best gift they can give us　でも、両親からの最大の贈り物は
is not a car or a house　車でも家でもなく
but the gift of love and　愛と独立
