As you all know, Bill Nissen has left A&A to join a major department store chain based in Texas as its senior manager of fashion marketing.
I talked with him for a couple of hours last week to try to change his mind.
But it seems they made him an offer he just couldn’t refuse.
Our loss is their gain. This has all happened so quickly.
We barely had a chance to say goodbye to Bill, I wonder whether he gave enough thought to this big move.
I think he did. Of course, I wish Bill well, and I understand his decision.
He was offered a very generous salary, not to mention a hefty sign-on bonus.
The company needed someone who could hit the ground running in two weeks to fill a position vacated by an executive who suddenly passed away.
Well, I can certainly understand the people at the retail chain falling over themselves to hire Bill.
Right. Obviously, one big reason was his outstanding performance at Alex & Alex.
They were especially impressed by his work in the merger process.
It’s also important to remember that Bill creates a very positive impression with just about everyone he meets.
I understand he more or less mesmerized the Texans who interviewed him.
